POSITION SUMMARY:
Girls of Virtue seeks a Development Coordinator to drive our ministry’s financial growth and sustainability. This vital role collaborates directly with our President, Executive Coordinator, and Board to plan and execute events, campaigns, and other fundraising efforts that align with and advance our mission. The Development Coordinator will strategically secure
diverse funding sources, including individual donations, grants, corporate partnerships, and special events, ensuring our ministry remains impactful and well-resourced.

Girls of Virtue is a non-profit ministry dedicated to serving and equipping our young women in Jacksonville by teaching them the proper skills needed to thrive in today’s complex generation. At our empowerment center and local schools, we focus on instilling essential skills through various enriching programs and resources, including mentorship, workshops, education, and spirituality. What began as a simple desire to give back has evolved into a transformative ministry that uplifts and impacts the lives of countless young women in our city. Every partnership, volunteer, and resource we integrate into our schools and empowerment center enhances our community, broadening our reach and allowing us to inspire even more young women to recognize their potential and create a lasting impact.
MISSION:

To empower and equip the next generation of young women to be spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially grounded through mentorship and education.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

These responsibilities reflect essential duties and may evolve based on company needs: Fundraising Management:
● Design, coordinate, and execute fundraising campaigns that support the organization’s financial goals.
● Develop a strategic timeline for campaigns, events, and grant deadlines, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and funding needs.
● Identify and pursue new funding opportunities.
● Track and analyze event and campaign performance, adjusting strategies to optimize results.
● Collaborate with the team to promote events to the community, ensuring maximum exposure and support of our ministry.
Grant Writing and Reporting:
● Research grant opportunities aligned with our mission and funding needs.
● Collaborate with team members to create, prepare, and submit compelling grant proposals and reports to funders and other potential donors.
● Track grant deadlines and report submissions to ensure timely follow-up and compliance with grant requirements.
● Tracks and analyzes outcomes of grant applications to refine approaches and improve future success rates.
● Monitors industry trends and funding opportunities to proactively adjust grant strategies as new prospects arise.
Relationship Management:
● Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors through regular updates on ministry impact, funding needs, appreciation events, and personalized communication.
● Maintain a donor database, ensuring accurate records of contributions, contact information, and donor preferences.
● Actively pursues networking opportunities to connect with potential donors, fostering long-term partnerships that support our mission.
● Identifies and leverages community engagement strategies to attract and retain new supporters through focused outreach efforts.

Budget Management:
● Develops and manages budgets for fundraising campaigns, events, and other development initiatives.
● Collaborates with our accountant to track revenue and expenses related to development activities.
● Monitors spending to keep campaigns and events within budget, providing regular financial updates to leadership.
● Analyzes past budget data to forecast costs for future campaigns and identifies areas to optimize spending and savings.

EXPERIENCE:

● Non-Profit Management: Experience in non-profit operations, with skills in supporting organizational initiatives through project management, administrative support, and preparing necessary legal documents for funding.

● Grant Management: Proven ability to draft, submit, and track grant applications, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and managing all associated documentation to meet funder standards.

● Event Planning: Plan different fundraising events to ensure financial goals are met.

● Communication and Writing: Experience in drafting professional correspondence, legal documents, reports, and presentations for various funding opportunities. Adept at managing internal and external communications with donors and prospects for sponsorships.

● Financial Administration: Strong background in financial administration with
experience in tracking and managing budgets, processing and reconciling expense reports, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping to support fundraising and development activities.

● Sales and Marketing: Strong background in financial administration, with experience in tracking and managing budgets, processing and reconciling expense reports, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping to support fundraising and development activities.

● Legal Knowledge & Proficiency: In-depth understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation, allowing for seamless coordination of fundraising operations and support.

● Analytical Problem-Solving: Strong ability to analyze complex challenges and independently develop practical solutions focusing on our financial needs.

proactive approach to adapting and shifting priorities while embracing new challenges.
● Initiative and Proactivity: Self-motivated with a forward-thinking approach, consistently identifying areas for improvement and contributing to our ministry’s progress.
● Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communicator, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and engagement in interactions with team members, donors, and community partners.
● Technical Skills: Proficient in various software and digital tools, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Workspace, and other essential platforms.

REQUIREMENTS:

● In alignment with our statement of faith.
● Passion for Girls of Virtue’s ministry and mission to love and empower young women.
● Reliable transportation and clean driving record.
● Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
● Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related field.
● Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field.
● Three references for a proven track record of successful fundraising & donor cultivation.
● Experience in grant writing and compliance.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
